Turtles & Flowers Fabric and Cushions

It's been a long time since I wanted to share these pictures from the cushion covers I made with the Turtles & Flowers fabric. The ones at the bottom and on the sides were custom made for our furniture at home a few months ago and the ones in the middle are for sale at Envelop.. I am very pleased with the result, it brightens up the atmosphere in the house.

My New Website

Very happy to announce that my new website is now live! www.gabrielalarios.com Felt really strange to erase everything I had before and upload the new images...as everything in life, change is inevitable and the new site reflects my evolution as a designer/artists and the stage where I
am now. Hope you like it. Any comments are more than welcome :)

Surtex 2012

This is a flyer I designed for Surtex 2012, it is the first time my work will be showcased at this New York City licencing art and design fair as I am now being represented by London based agency Advocate Art :)!
The work you can find in my blog and my website (which I am planning to redesign very soon) is not everything I have produced recently, I have many more new collections and designs for licencing that haven't been made public yet. But if you are an art buyer and happen to be in New York City from May 20 - 22 do come along to Advocate Art's Booth to see some of my latest pieces of work...and yes there are a few of my beloved turtles involved! As you can see on this flyer which gives a sneak peek of what you can find.

Spotty Turtles Entries

A Spotty Turtle

Spotty Turtle 2

Sharing with you my two entries for the Oh Deer Tee Party Competition. I haven't taken part in any design competitions lately but this one really caught my attention! Check it out! I simply loved the original design concept behind a Tee Party competition! I honestly don't expect to win anything but regardless of the outcome I really really enjoyed working on these designs :)!... many thanks to Oh Deer for such a fun competition. If you like the designs and would like to support them go to the following links A Spotty Turtle and Spotty Turtle 2

Note: I put on the description of A Spotty Turtle that it was a women's design but I believe both of them are unisex.

Fishes Crown - Colors Revisited

I have been a bit busy lately working on new projects! While preparing some artworks for my portfolio I found this pattern done about a year ago. I applied new colors to see how it looked like and thought it would be nice to share the result! :)

Elena's Special Dress

Our holidays with my family in El Salvador are almost over. We celebrated Elena's 4th Birthday with a 'piñata' held at La Laguna Botanical Garden, this place used to be the lake of an extinct volcano - the vegetation there is exuberant just as the peacocks from the Chumpes fabric that Elena's dress was made with. Specially designed for the occasion, this was one of the personal projects I managed to develop with my fabric collections during our visit.

Gabriela Larios for Wallpapered

Cuentos

Tortuguero

Turtles & Flowers

I have some exciting news to share! From now on I will be working with London based company Wallpapered. These are the first three designs that are on sale at http://www.wallpapered.com/mural/gabriela-larios
My daughter Elena has already picked the one she likes the most, the one which I call "Tortuguero"a place where you find looots of turtles!  The first wallpaper called Cuentos (Tales) may be familiar to you as it is a simplification of the Cuentos from my Childhood design, inspired by childhood experiences in El Salvador (see previous posts). Turtles & Flowers is also inspired by childhood memories in my grandmother's garden who loved turtles too!

Tortuguitas Collection Fabric Samples

I am back from our family trip to the South of Spain. How beautiful is the Alhambra!
We really felt a very strong cultural connection I would love to go back again one day soon.
But the point of this post are these fabric samples, which arrived in the post while we were in Spain. I think they look great!
